 Setting up POP e-mail on an iPhone
Please use the following steps to add e-mail accounts to your iPhone.
- Select Settings
- Scroll down and select Mail, Contacts and Calendars
- Click on Add Account
- Select Other
On the first page, enter the following
- Name: <your full name>
- Address: <e-mail address>
- Password: <password of the e-mail account>
- Description: <name to give this Mail account on the iPhone, leave as default>
Click the Save button (at the top right of the screen)
On the second screen enter
- Ensure POP is selected (rather than IMAP)
Under the Incoming Mail Server section
- Host name: <pop hostname> - for CNS use pop.1and1.co.uk
- User name: <full e-mail address>
- Password: <pop e-mail password, leave as is or replace if necessary>
Under the Outgoing Mail Server section
- Host name: <SMTP hostname> - for CNS use auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk
- User name: <full e-mail address> - needed for Authenticated SMTP servers
- Password: <pop e-mail password> - needed for Authenticated SMTP servers
Click the Save button (at the top right of the screen)
The iPhone will verify your account settings are correct...and that’s it !!!
To Check your e-mails
Click on the Mail icon at the bottom of the iPhone main screen and it will open your inbox and check for e-mail.
If you have several accounts you can select a different account by selecting the Accounts button at the top left of the screen and selecting the alternate e-mail accounts you have set up.
