Microsoft’s latest version of windws has many new features, but essentially is very similar in functionality to Windows XP. There is a new Aero User interface and several versions Home Basic, Premium , Business and Ultimate. Minimum memory is recommended 1Gb. Ambassador Property Mananagement server upgrade
Ambassador Properties felt that the time had come to update their aging Compaq Server  to a Dell’s latest SC1430 server platform with RAID5 redundancy and SCSI disks to allow optimal performance. This will provide them with a stable file server to run their important property management database application for the foreseable future. Again this was completed over a weekend to minimise disruption to normal working hours. Cambridge Clinical Research  (CCR) install new server
CCR asked Cambridge Network Solutions to upgrade their server to the latest hardware and Windows Small Business Server 2003 (SBS) operating system. This was a major project as this involved upgrade of at least 20 Remote laptops used by nurses around the country and migrating them to use the latest Microsoft Exchange 2003 e-mail enviornment. AVG Release version 7.5 with Malware and Spyware modules
GRISOFT today launched a new version of its AVG security product line with improved performance and a unified easy-to-use interface. The 7.5 lineup includes new products such as AVG Internet Security for complex protection against all types of internet threats, AVG Anti-Malware and AVG Anti-Spyware. Sygma Security and Sygma Safety call on CNS to install new server and organise their office network.
Sygma Security are a small company growing very quickly. The need arose for them to have a central file server to ensure data was being backed up. Goodbye Windows 98 and Windows ME
Microsoft is urging an estimated 70 million users of Windows 98 to upgrade as it ends support for the software. From 11 July, Microsoft will no longer help users over the phone with any problems they have with the ageing operating system.

Atkins and Gregory provide contract cleaning services to many companies around the Cambridge area. Continued growth has meant that they needed specialised accounting and management software applications. Microsoft stops supporting Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows 2000 Server platforms.
What does this mean for most users?  Although your PC’s will continue to work quite happliy for the forseeable future, as new Viruses and holes in the operating system are exploited by hackers, this leaves your data and network at risk.

Now is time to upgrade those PC’s to Windows XP!
